Recording the headphone Buss?

Since most music apps are able to play in the background now, I'll sometimes come up with some interesting ambient combination of several synths each doing their own thing, and would like to be able to record what I'm hearing in the headphones as a stereo track on Auria without having to hook up an interface.

Is it possible to use the headphone buss as an input?

I don't think so, but if they're different apps couldn't you insert them all as IAA effects, then hit record? Or use audiobus? Sounds like something Charles Ives would do if he had an iPad!

Unfortunately, Apple doesn't allow that. There's no way for an app to record the actual headphone output. The reasons are because they don't want apps to be able to record phone conversations.
