Just Started New Project and UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by leehoward » Tue Sep 24, 2013 10:56 am

Can you help please? Just started new Auria project and laid down my first track of piano. Then laid down 2nd track and on playing back, it all goes very quiet. The volume on both tacks are the same when I play back individually but together it loses all the sound or plays back very quietly. Never happened before and IOS 7 has been reasonable but now have this prob. Any ideas from you guys would be most welcome. Also when I hit the solo button, the sound comes back from the other track. Help? Please. Thanks

If the tracks are IDENTICAL then you might be experiencing a phase issue. Try the polarity switch on one track or try this:
Move one of the tracks forward in time about 20ms. Does the problem start to go away?

Make sure there's no automation on those tracks.

This can happen if when recording your piano with two mics, you don't use the same position for the mics on both tracks. The two mic positions can cause phase issues when mixed together.

Rim, this sounds to me like Lee may have duplicated the piano track. But why it's out of phase is a mystery to me.

Lee, glad it worked out.
