Auria has a limiter in the masterstrip that can be used this way.

Yes but I think it should be provided by the OS.

patience, my friend, patience. Testing new features takes time, and I suppose we're all human, with a private life.

I'd like to test IAA as well, and I'm sure in a week or two we'll be using that all. And we can already sync apps (manually with the same BPM's, or with MIDI clock) and import audio into Auria as a workaround. And I don't believe 1.13 will make our music production better, it will just be more easy.

Any new Auria plugins I should save up for in this release? Internal Auria plugs that is. I know about the Auria Ready Sugar Bytes ones.

Edit: Also, will this release allow external IAA effect plugins (like the AUFX series from Kymatica that's been updated with IAA support) to be loaded into a channel strip?

The only new plugins in this release are the two SugarBytes ones: Turnado and WOW2.

Yes, Auria 1.13 supports IAA instruments and effects. You'll be able to use them just like normal Auria plugins (except only one instance is allowed at a time). They appear in all the plugin lists (including subgroup, master and aux).

Thanks Rim!

Gotta say regarding Apples IAA, I do hope Apple continue developing all this IAA/IAM with more incremental updates, instead of the usual one big update per year. Presets/parameters changes, and somehow find a way around their own sandbox-ing in all this so we can use more then one instance of an app inside the IAA environment, those are the two most limiting things as I´ve understood all this. Anyway, sounds like a lot of fun to be had with it all still tho, so really looking forward to trying it out! : )

I'm still trying to understand IAA. If an instrument is inserted into a channel in Auria will it be played from Auria or (more likely) played from the instrument's app/screen? If it is played from the instrument's screen, how do you start recording? Will you need to make a long count-in to give you time to switch apps and then start playing or will there be a record button like with Audiobus?

IAA apps have a little panel with Auria's transport in it. So you can start and stop Auria from within the IAA app. There's also a little Auria icon for switching back to Auria when you're done.

Thanks Rim. So basically it is Audiobus, but without Audiobus. I'm looking forward to the next update.

Hey syrupcore, your comment got me thinking, (and that's not easy).
I bet it would be difficult to detect the difference between a loud rock crash (or similar) and a static burst. They might be interpreted as the same thing since white noise can be pretty loud "intentionally" in a song. The white noise bursts only hurt because it can put out a loud noise with less energy. Kinda like why we have a highpass sidechain on compressors.

There is a volume limit setting under, Settings > Music, but it has no delineations or dB markings, so maybe not useable.
