Cross fades

Hi,
I cannot get the crossfade tool in upper right hand of the GUI to work. It's always greyed out.
Also, the crossfade in the "Process" drop down is always greyed out.
What am I missing ?? Thanks for the great app... Lov'n it....

use the multi-select tool (far left on tool bar) to select the 2 overlapping regions. make sure there are only 2 and they are both have blue outlines.
