Correct order to open apps ?
Correct order to open apps ?
Hi everyone...... just a quick question from a newbie Auria user....
Is there a correct order in which apps should be opened for example........... when using audiobus should it be
1. open audiobus
2. insert output app first (auria)
3. insert compatible 'insert' app ??????????????
I have a 'Apogee Jam' and am aware that my headphone jack should be connected first before launching anything else in order for it to work.
Sorry if this seems a dumb ass question ! ...lol
cheers all

Re: Correct order to open apps ?
When using Audiobus with Auria I recommend:
1. Close all apps first
2. Open Audiobus
3. Insert the input slot app first
4. Insert the Output slot app next (usually Auria)

Re: Correct order to open apps ?
And for completeness:
Do you do the reverse to stop using Audiobus?
Is it okay to just close Audiobus and continue on with Auria?

Re: Correct order to open apps ?
When closing, it's important to close Auria first.

Didn't know that. Why?Rim wrote:When closing, it's important to close Auria first.

Re: Correct order to open apps ?
If you kill the other audio apps while Auria is still running, CoreAudio doesn't like it and causes an issue where you loose all your input channels.

Thankyou for your reply Rim ... and to others.
I think this is important information that should be made clear to all.
Cheers.

Auria.....LAST ON, FIRST OFF.

Got it.

Re: Correct order to open apps ?
Thanks for the explanation Rim. Good to know.
Indeed. Similar to the convolution reverb problem some of us ran into. I had given up on it (always crashed) until I saw this thread: http://auriaapp.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 935#p23929nicoustic wrote:Thankyou for your reply Rim ... and to others.

What if you're using a MIDI controller app to control the input? Should it be:Rim wrote:When using Audiobus with Auria I recommend:

Synth (input), MIDI (controller), then Auria (output)?
Or does it even make a difference?
Virtual MIDI overall seems to be somewhat finicky, depending on what apps you're using, which is why I ask.
Re: Correct order to open apps ?
Audiobus only allows one input app per slot slot.

Re: Correct order to open apps ?
You can have 3 separate input slots in Audiobus, I thnk he means that. But to make it simple, like the bioguy above said - Auria last on and first off (regardless if one of your input apps is just a midi controller app).

Re: Correct order to open apps ?
Yeah, on top of that some MIDI controllers are recognized by Audiobus and even show up as a separate track in Auria, while others are not. I was just wondering if there was some specific order to follow when a MIDI controller was involved.ChrisG wrote:You can have 3 separate input slots in Audiobus...
Re: Correct order to open apps ?
Nope, same as all other Audiobus compatible apps. I don't think the app on the recieving end (output slot) can differentiate between what kind of apps that are loaded up in the input slots (don't quote me on that tho!).
