Auria and Beatmaker via midiclocksync WORKS !!

Post by pipo79 » Fri Jul 12, 2013 7:47 am

Hey guys,
When Auria sends MidiClock to Beatmaker 2 it seems to be a stable pact between them two (start, stop, songposition) ... Except looping but that is not the point here as I want to let you know that NOW with the UPDATE you can use Auria & BM2 together and then you have something very very special .... A high end Daw for Audio & a MidiSequencer doing a good job ... So let's forget about Cubasis ...
BTW you can also automate a third synth app via BM2 ...seems like we do not need a midistepsequencer inside Auria but I am just testing right now so let's seeee what happens ..

Cheers

Can you share the exact steps you are doing?I can't get it to work properly.Auria as Slave doesnt work and as a master,Beatmaker starts too late (not possible to compensate it with the Midi delay)and doesn't recognize song position as well=currently not usable in my case.

edit:typo

You must set in BM2 receive midi clock, active Auria as a Midi input,
In Auria active Midi clock in Midi>Out>Beatmaker2 and down active send Start/Stop and Send Song Position...
Now you are right :)

Dunno - turn everything else off - I had some issues as long as BM2 was sending something so I turned Midi Out completeley off - my setting is

AURIA - sending Midi Clock
BM2 - recieve Auria

When I move the locator in Auria by hand BM2 is doing the same - doesn't work when Auria is looping or when I hit faster transport buttons as rewind ..

Now I can start the playback in Auria - switch over to BM2 - hit record in BM 2 and record stuff there. Then stop recording in BM 2 - switch to Auria press stop and stop again then play... While Auria plays along BM2 is playing the new recorded part - I can hear no latency .

Good luck

Next test will be using it all inside audiobus so I can record BM2 whilst playing.

Ok here is the test result !
Setting: Audiobus
Auria in Output slot ( record monitor enabled - audiobus live monitor disabled)
BM 2 in Input Slot (controlling the follwing two apps via virtual midi)
Nave in next Input Slot (this one uses heavy cpu)
Neo Soul Keys in last Input Slot (heavy cpu usage also)

Now there should be three channels armed in Auria already because you started all the input apps after you started Auria.

Auria is sending MidiClock (start stop and songposition enabled) to BM 2
BM 2 is recieving the clock and triggers our two synthiapps ...

Now hit record in Auria and DON'T touch It anymore - Voila Three Tracks recorded in Auria fitting to tracks that already were in Auria.
Found some Glitches in the Nave Track .... It is not superb though but with lighter synths it should work ...

Have Fun !
