Is there a way to merge tracks?
I'm having real annoying CPU issues even w/64G RAM.
Merge tracks? Other ways to reduce CPU usage?
Re: Merge tracks? Other ways to reduce CPU usage?
Hi there, you could solo whichever tracks you wish to merge and mixdown to a new track, then either delete the tracks you've mixed down or just remove whatever plugins may be using up your CPU.louparte wrote:Is there a way to merge tracks?

Hope this is some help.

Are you freezing tracks that have efx on them once they are as you want them? This is the best way to free up processor power.

Thanks for the tip in soloing tracks ajmack302. I didn't think of that.
Sch - I started freezing tracks last night. We'll see how it goes. Thanks.

I think you'll find that freezing will do the trick for you. I initially ran Auria on a 64 GB iPad 1 and had projects with 20+ tracks, all with efx chains, and freezing allowed me to complete them with no CPU worries. Bear in mind also that some efx will suck CPU power much more than others, so freezing is immensely helpful.louparte wrote:Sch - I started freezing tracks last night. We'll see how it goes. Thanks.

I'm freezing even tracks that don't have the FX settings yet.
I am still getting CPU messages, but less often.
I'm using Fab Filter Pro C & Convolution reverbs.

Re: Merge tracks? Other ways to reduce CPU usage?
Having 64GB won't make a difference for CPU. 64GB is the amount of disk space you have (storage for projects and audio files). Only upgrading between iPad version will make a difference for CPU (an iPad 4 has 2-3 times faster CPU than iPad 3 for example). If you're having CPU overload issues, freezing tracks is an important way to minimize them. But it really depends on what model iPad you have and how many tracks your project has.
