Auria to Pro-Tools and Pro-Tools to Auria

Post by JohnD » Fri Mar 29, 2013 9:22 am

Heya,

I have Auria and Pro-Tools 10 (about to upgrade to it anyway).

As I understand it, I can record a project in Auria and then open it in Pro-Tools. What I would like to know is - can this be done the other way round too? Can I record a project in Pro-Tools and then open it in Auria?

I would like to be able to record basic audio projects in either DAW and use Pro-Tools when at home and Auria when on the road.

Is it possible to open projects going each way?

Thank-you for a super product!

John

P.S. A Mid/Side plugin would be superb if you fancy making one ;-)

Yes, AAF works in both ways. Auria can read and write AAF files.

For clarity's sake, Pro Tools requires the Digitranslator to utilize the AAF format for either import or export. Pro Tools LE 8, the latest version I'm using, without this costly (I think it was $995, not sure) addition, will not interface directly with Auria.

That's true for older Pro Tools versions (v8 and lower). Newer Pro Tools version have AAF support built in. Thanks for the clarification.
