Off topic - Noise Reduction for iOS?

Post by Navpack » Fri Mar 01, 2013 12:47 pm

Does anyone know of an audio cleanup/noise reduction app for iOS that would help to cleanup location noise? I am using Auria more these days doing audio for video and this is one piece to the puzzle that I'm having trouble finding for the iPad.

Thanks.
Phil.

I'm finding that judicious notching with FabFilter Pro-Q works quite well, but it will obviously depend upon the type of noise you have to contend with.

Thanks Simon. I have that plug but hadn't used it in that manner - will give it a go.

notch and cut filters can help, also special NR plugins, but as you know, it is sometimes not the best idea to do NR in post. Better do it before the recording stage.

Agreed that it is better to try and fix on the way in - however much of what I am given I have no control over and is recordied in harsh conditions. Izotope is my go to plugin on the desktop and I'm looking for something similar for iOS if it exists.

Thanks much
phil.

If you're recording mics with Audiobus I have had great results creating expander/filters in Audulus that can run in the effects slot.
