AAF Import Fades

Post by Navpack » Thu Feb 14, 2013 5:04 pm

I have noticed this on a few projects, but it became more critical today...project AAF has both crossfades and fade-in/fade-out on clips. When imported to Auria the crossfades translate just fine but the fade-in/out transitions are ignored. I can import the same .aaf to Nuendo and it imports as expected. Anyone else seeing the same thing, or am I missing something?

Thanks.
Phil.

Interesting. In my tests, AAFs with fades worked fine here.

Thanks Rim. Any particular editor those AAF files came from?

We test Pro Tools, Nuendo and Logic when we do an AAF test here.

Odd that I can import to Nuendo fine with both crossfades and fade in/out intact, but not the same with Auria. I'll test some additional files today.

Thanks.

Rim, you mentioned Nuendo as one of your test software apps for .aaf. You had both crossfades and fade in/out that translated? I have been successful with crossfades, but fade in/out come across as rendered audio or not there at all depending on the filter used in Final Cut Pro.

I trust this makes sense.

Thanks.

Well, we don't have Final Cut here as a source, so it's possible that it's generating a fade that's different than what we're looking for. I can certainly have a look if you send me a file.

Thanks,
Rim
