Re: Old Timer vs MicroWarmer vs Pro-L

@timmyg I recently used a touch of MicroWarmer followed by Pro-L on the master strip for mastering purposes and was very happy with the results. As mrufino1 and richardyot have mentioned, MicroWarmer combines compression with saturation, and a little saturation before hitting your Limiter can go a l...

Re: PSP Plugins - MicroWarmer vs OldTimer

Thank you @supanorton, all I knew was both were good for warming up and fattening sound. I thought they were both compressors when I bought them, but now it seems MicroWarmer is more of a saturator, perhaps? Very much appreciate the usage tips as well :)

PSP Plugins - MicroWarmer vs OldTimer

Can anyone help me better understand the distinguishing features between these two plug-ins? They seem quite similar to me. Also, any particular scenarios where either are particularly effective (guitar, drums, buss or mastering, etc.)?

Any feedback appreciated. Thanks!

Re: In praise of the Channel Strip

Agreed, I have EQ and compression (as needed) on the channel strip saved into all of my presets. Handy thing I just discovered is you can switch channel strip presets on frozen tracks! Which, when you've updated that rhythm guitar sound and need to apply an updated preset to multiple tracks, is awes...

Re: So long, Alchemy. We barely knew ya.

I wonder how long it will be available in the app store. theoretically it only needs the purchase of a dev account ($99) to keep it there. If no one pays though it'll be removed and then what? Will the next time you sync you ipad will it be deleted? @mtingle Looks like they didn't. It's already off...

Re: JamUp - Standalone vs. In-app version?

So, for a guitarist who likes effects, should I get Jamup? I get the impression that it's good for amp simulation, but how are the effects? I like loads of presets to get you started which you can fiddle with. Also like some of the more off-the-wall sounds with chorus, flange, delays etc. A good us...

As long as there's a piano roll/sequencer, this is plenty good enough for me. I have a thousand and one virtual keyboards already at my disposal 8)

Re: 2014 App of The Year **Auria**

I'll second that. No matter what other apps I get, Auria is my DAW. In fact, as someone who gave the whole desktop DAW thing a pass, it's my only DAW, and the only one I need :)

Re: Best Auria Plugins for Mixing

Hey, Forbidden! I remember those guys. Def Leppard? Alright. I think DS is a must have for vocals. I recently mixed a song where I needed multiple instances of sibilance control, which you can't really get from something like VocaLive. 4 or 5 instances of DS saved the day. Then again, they're aaaaal...

Re: Best Auria Plugins for Mixing

Welcome @tourniquet - for mixing, I'd recommend Pro-Q and, if you'll be mixing vocals, Pro-DS. I also use the PSP channel strips, but when you need to zero in on problem frequencies and sibilance, you'll find these two very helpful. Plus, both are on sale through the end of the year 8)
