Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

What is the easiest way to get my recorded songs to my iTunes library? Before I do that what is the easiest way to master each song, would it be to group each track together and run it through the eq/compressor? I don't know about the easiest way, but I mix down the track to DropBox then import it ...

Re: Auria and DM1

Hi,

Welcome to computer mixing. You chose a good place to start.

So far as I know, Dm1 doesn't export as individual tracks.

Don't worry about doing things the 'wrong' way, there is no such thing. If it works for you, it works for you.

Re: Ipad Air 128GB and Auria V Mac Mini and Pro Logic X

I spent a couple of years trying to launch home recording from a PC. It's hard to express how that went for me without being able to attach a recording of a primal scream. Setup, for someone reasonably technical but lacking in time, just seemed unnecessarily difficult and problematic. All that time,...

Re: I think that my query has something to do with midi

Well if, like me, you REALLY don't know what you're doing, I found that GarageBand on iPad is really pretty good for strings if you don't mind being limited to the various fairly standard patterns and your chord progressions are not too quick. I have once done a more complex job by individually trac...

Re: Has Santa Been?

Thanks again. I've got more info from this board than I have from trawling the web. Must be the quality of folk who use Auria ;) I tried Reaper before I got the iPad and got... Nowhere! The complexity of setting it all up with an external sound card defeated me. Several days at it with one lousy gui...

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

I found the iTrack Solo really good. Had loads of problems with the IO Dock, but none at all with the Solo. Also deals with mic input and carries phantom power. Cheap too!

Re: Has Santa Been?

Sadly, I'm a drummer with no spare cash and young kids, so swapped my acoustic kit for a midi one a while back. I do need to get a real kit back soon - I only get to hit real drums in practice studios and when I borrow a kit for gigs. Waiting for that Sony recording deal then I'll sort out a home st...

Re: Has Santa Been?

Wow, thanks chaps. I honestly didn't just mean this to be a 'help Bob Amser' forum, but it's much appreciated. I keep hearing about the EZ Drummer program. It's real money, though. That said, I can't see that any of the apps will quite do it. I've been using SampleTank to access some decent samples ...

Re: Has Santa Been?

I've had a look at Saturn, but looks a bit technical for me. Thanks for the book recommendation. Having come up with the first track 'in the can' that I am actually happy with today, I am HOOKED on Auria and getting to grips with proper recording. I will try to understand the channel strip as you su...

You're right, but a book helps pick you off the 'ignorant' floor!

Of the ones you have, what would be your top recommendation?

Has Santa Been?

Go on then, who bought / got given some plugins for Christmas? If so, post it here and give a mark out of 10 for how much it / they have changed your recording life. I got three and have already been playing with them. Pro-Q - 10/10. This, coupled with the tutorial video on YouTube have helped me to...

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

Thanks, I'll give that a go. I'm using the included compressor with Auria for now, but got my eye on the pro-q one.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Vote for your favorite Auria video!

Great fun entering and forced me to sit down and complete a track. Started two more since, so it's been a great 'jump start' to proper recording. If you didn't enter this time, I'd recommend going for it if another competition comes up. Good to have a deadline! Do go and have a look through the vide...

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

Hi folks, Quick question. I have a rock track that has a relatively quiet intro and then everything comes in at once. I've dialed up the compression pretty high which works nicely during the song itself, but there's a dodgy bit when everything comes in. The big thump of it all coming in seems to ove...
