Re: Transferring songs to pc

Cool. I'll have to check that out too. So might this be an easier way to back up our projects than going through iTunes (which I'm not a big fan of)?

Re: Audio output levels / Mastering tutorial

do IAP plugins sound better than internal plugins? They can, but it's not always the sound that you're paying for, nor just the look and feel. The two main reasons I buy an IAP plugin are for its added flexibility and its sound. The Fabfilter Pro-Q, for example, has an insane amount of functionalit...

...you will still get an emotional kick from the rubbish track, just because it's louder. It doesn't lead to long term musical satisfaction... Dominic Exactly. It does give you that initial impact. But it doesn't last. I get listening fatigue much quicker listening to the radio - even if it's at a ...

Re: Audio output levels / Mastering tutorial

3) Commercial/pro mastering engineers now have a sordid array of very expensive equipment to get levels slammed to 0dB (and sometimes over - digital clipping is becoming increasingly common). The tools consist of an army of specialist (often expensive) plugins, D/A convertors, summing boxes, A/D co...

Re: AURIA More Logic than Logic and More Cubase then Cubasis

We've been doing so since day one: Auria has changed the game. I won't knock the PC DAWs, which still have more horsepower (and screen) for handling multiple processor-intensive plugins, etc, but it's a matter of time before the CPU discrepancy gets narrow enough, and they start to make larger touch...

Re: Here comes the competition: Cubasis

A quick glance at Cubasis reminds me of the other iOS multitrackers. Auria's interface looks higher end to me. (Not that it's about looks, but... well, yeah partly it is  ). But automation and 24 bit recording are not something I can go back from. (I do agree with an earlier poster... how long...

Re: Let them work and rtfm

I'd rather see a tolerant forum even at the expense of repeating a few threads. People can get converted and then get drawn in to the community. that's the way I see it anyhow. mtingle, I was actually referring to intolerance in both directions: those who simply don't care to read the manual or try...

Re: Let them work and rtfm

Every single technical forum I'm on has the same problem. Then you'll see others who post those same repeated questions getting all offended and say things like "Gosh, what kind of place is this that you can't ask a simple question without being told to search it yourself?" Or "I alre...

Re: About the 50% price off sale of Auria today...

If I wrote Auria, I would love to every now and then do something crazy like that. I do that with my music. Once in a while I hand out a freebie, sometimes to generate interest, but other times, just because. It's my music and I can do whatever I want with it. I would feel the same about my software...

A de-esser plugin

A de-esser plugin would be most welcomed. I've been manually de-essing, but what a pain.

How about an IR management?

The hundreds of IRs available are seriously cool, but way too long to manage. Even when you download one or two IR packs, it's too long for a single list. Could IR management also be added?

Yes, I never understood this DAW behavior. Why keep playing when there's nothing left to play?

You could have saved yourself a long post by first asking "is Auria going to have MIDI", which we are told the answer is yes. :D

Re: Mastering in Auria

I imported wav files (mixed on another system) into Auria to do just that. (Check out the results at http://www.soundcloud.com/joetunon ). There is more than one way to do it (and no one way is "superior" to the other). You can use plugins on the individual tracks of a stereo mixdown (no n...
