Re: Good Piano, Hammond and Drum sounds ?
It may sound stupid, but GarageBand's piano is actually pretty good, and so are the organs...

Re: Refund?
The difference from iPad 2 to iPad 3 isn't all that big, and the Retina display isn't supported by Auria (to save memory), so you'll get the same resolution on the iPad 3.
However, what *does* make a huge difference is the iPad 4 - if you can, you should get that

Re: Final File Sizes
The math is pretty simple - for 24 tracks and 4 minutes: 24 (channels) x 4 (minutes) x 60 (seconds) x 96 x 1024 (kHz) x 2 (16 bit) / 1024 (kbyte) / 1024 (mbyte) / 1024 (gbyte) = 1.0546875 GB

Re: Track freezing vs Aux sends....?
If you really need a different reverb for each track (I've never), and aren't too lazy to configure all of them, and have enough CPU power to spare, then why not...
If I did that with my desktop DAW, I'd run out of CPU after 4 tracks

Re: am i really the only one?? (sluggish edit window)
I'm not an Auria developer so I can't really tell what they're doing. However, as many have already pointed out, other packages do have fast and zippy waveform drawing even with lots of waveforms. As I've already stated in another thread, for me the most obvious way to go would be to pre-render each...

Re: am i really the only one?? (sluggish edit window)
Blah, zooming obviously included scrolling (?!)
And yes, this is a *really* easy workaround, and it would be similarly easy to simply detect the framerate during drawing, and if it's lower than, say, 10 fps, turn off waveform drawing and only show placeholders.

Re: am i really the only one?? (sluggish edit window)
This problem has been mentioned over and over again, and I don't understand why it doesn't get top priority for fixing. I have coded most of the video/audio sequencer in Blender (the 3D software), also using OpenGL (just like what Auria uses). The CPU/GPU power of an iPad 1 is well enough to smoothl...

Re: Can i import from garageband...?
I think Multitrack DAW can open m4a files (Mail -> "Open In..." -> "Multitrack DAW"), which you can then audiocopy & paste into Auria.

Not to mention all the iPhone 5s that have to be analyzed for scuffs

Re: Audiobus approved by apple.
Pffff. I've made several high-end productions on a Pentium IV 3 GHz with 1 GB RAM, with old Logic 5.5.1. So, an iPad 3's specs should be more than enough

If it isn't too hard, why not offer both as an option? ("Background Audio compatibility mode: A, B")

Re: Effects and memory
That is nonsense. Obviously, if you have no idea how music production works, and you have 16 tracks and put a convolution reverb on each of them instead of a single one in an aux, then there's really no way to help you except read music production tutorials. An iPad, even an iPad 1, has plenty of po...

Re: SLow work flow??
The most obvious thing would be for Auria to simply loop-extend any region if you try to pull its end marker past the end of the sample (after a slight "Are-You-Sure"-Snap). Other DAWs do it like this, at least with regions that have a "loop" flag set or similar. I.e. if you have...
