Re: Connecting a Focusrite 18i20 to an ipad mini

Dominic is right.
You have to try all combinations that come mind.

I have a 2i2. Even when powered, if I connect it directly, my iPad does not recognize it. Only when I use a USB hub -powered or not-.

Re: Connecting a Focusrite 18i20 to an ipad mini

So CCK to USB is being used.

First choice: to connect it directly.
Second choice: to connect it through a USB hub.

Have you tried both?

Re: Mackie Onyx BlackJack. Is it iPad Auria compatible?

Confirmed! It is compatible. It worked with my iMac and my iPad -CCK- Out Of the Box. No drivers needed. No latency issues detected until now. I just received mine today. And after some initial test, I already want to record with it :) EDIT: If user fgplayerx is correct, it delivers true 24bit samp...

Re: Can you record at 96kHz if the interface maximum is 48kH

Ok. So, lets suppose that the whole production process would be made by Auria. With a nice, but not so expensive audio interface. Recording, Editing, Mixing, Mastering and maybe Postproduction. And that your main goal is Download at 320kbps MP3 -Mixdown by Auria-. Would recording at 24bit, 96kHz off...

Can you record at 96kHz if the interface maximum is 48kHz?

If it can be done, what happens inside the resulting file.
Are there duplicate samples? Are there skipped samples? Does it sound strange?

Re: Rode ixy

It's a shame Rode bought the app from Audiofile Engineering instead of letting them manage it, would likely not have so many bugs :( The original iXY firmware was also quite buggy. I exchanged mine for another interface after a failed firmware update. And I had the original Fire2 App. Before Rode b...

@dominicperry
It looks quite interesting; but I'll be waiting for your thoughts on the Mics Pre-Amps before I look for one.

Re: Rough Side by Side for Vocals. Mics and/or Audio Interfa

I have a Røde M3. Haven't found a use for it really, it sounds quite muddy. I think your clips demonstrate that, but it does 'compress' some of the transients which make for a more level performance. The Line Audio CM3 is probably too close for that kind of vocal work, and it's also picking up the ...
