Re: Apogee Duet 2 vs Duet for iPad

There are 3 versions: 1) The Duet (1) is Firewire and is of no relevance here. 2) The Duet 2 may work with iPad using a USB hub, but it may not. It certainly won't charge the iPad and doesn't have a Midi port. It probably won't work with the Maestro app on iPad and therefore the original Duet 2 is u...

Re: Auria using Bluetooth

I have an iLoud. It's great for travelling but not much good otherwise. For the same money you could get a much better pair of conventional monitor speakers. As far as I know, Auria doesn't support bluetooth, but the iLoud implementation of bluetooth is terrible anyway, very low quality. To do any k...

No midi. So, no, not for everyone. It looks good though.

Re: New HQ audio interface for ipad (charge it too)

I have one on order too. It will, of course, be late! It will have limiters too, although no specs so far. In fact, no specs for the Mic Pres, so I'm hoping they are better than the one in the MicPort Pro. The line inputs will be a padded mic input, which is a pity but they claim that is common in m...

The Eden Synth in Nanostudio is the main reason why I use an iPad and not a computer.

But I will be pleased if Auria gets midi, for sure!

Re: Soundcraft Mixing desk

I downloaded the MultiDigital IO User Guide and the Application guide. No mention of iPad or Class Compliance there at all. I don't know how they are expecting the iPad to connect for their own control apps, but I don't think it's through the USB port; they're probably expecting wireless connectivit...

Re: Soundcraft Mixing desk

Are you sure the Soundcraft is Class Compliant? I can see that Soundcraft do their own iPad apps, but that doesn't necessarily mean the desk will work with all iPad apps.
And, are you using a genuine Apple CCK?

Re: Made for iPad from Focusrite

The iTrack Dock is a great idea and looks good but my ipad is encapsuled in large military spec rubber case, so this does not suit me. Therefore the suggestion of the Focusrite Interface, 6i6 and its added functionality is very interesting. Does this model power/charge the Ipad? Please pass onto to...

Re: Blue Snowball vs. Blue Yeti vs. Apogee Mic ?

All the MFi (Made For iOS) Focusrite interfaces have a direct monitor button, which gives you zero latency monitoring. However, it does not allow you to blend the amount of software return with the direct signal, meaning you have to adjust the software (DAW) master level in Auria (or whatever app y...

Re: Rough Side by Side for Vocals. Mics and/or Audio Interfa

I have a Røde M3. Haven't found a use for it really, it sounds quite muddy. I think your clips demonstrate that, but it does 'compress' some of the transients which make for a more level performance. The Line Audio CM3 is probably too close for that kind of vocal work, and it's also picking up the r...

Well found. That was back in May last year though, it might be worth waiting for Rim to chip in. Sadly, he's around less than usual, I think he's coding something, but I don't know what.....................

Re: Buying Auria now, next update free?

No, I wasn't teasing.

I was interested to know when/where it had been said, as the OP is considering putting down cash now, and I think it's fair to refer him to the 'source' material. But if two people remember it being said, then it's more likely true!
