Re: Latency redux

On iOS latency is set by the first music app you open, so it's really important to close all background apps and restart Auria before recording.

Re: Pro-DS...Before or after reverb

try adding a kick drum to a track, now add an eq and remove all the bass frequencies leaving it tinny. now turn up a reverb on an AUX channel and hear the return of all the bass through the AUX channel. This can only be achieved if the AUX's are pre-insets. Just done that exact test: kick drum filt...

Re: Drumagog

Another question. If I play a complex drum part on my table, can I split the notes in drumagog into different tracks/drums? If you slice it up in the timeline by hand and then put different parts onto different tracks then yes, but it would probably be quicker to record each part separately. If you...

Re: Drumagog

I'm confused with this plugin. I thought it took drum sounds, and changed them to other sounds. But i saw apost here stating the opposite. So, if use drum agog, I could play drums with my hands on the kitchen table, and turn it into drum tracks? Yes, that's one way I use it, for example I use the I...

Re: Pro-DS...Before or after reverb

the AUX's are pre-everything. pre-channel strip, pre-plugins, pre-subgroup routing. It's not what I would refer, but it is how it is. Maybe I am misunderstanding you, but that really doesn't seem to be the case. I did a simple test: in a new project I recorded a few hand claps, then I used Drumagog...

Re: Pro-DS...Before or after reverb

The Aux sends are post channel strips and inserts - they have to be or freezing tracks wouldn't work correctly. If you freeze a track that bakes the channel strip and insert effects, but you can still vary the Aux send level, ergo the Aux is applied after them. I think the order is: Channel Strip (P...

Re: Audio disappeared

You can download the project from this link if you want to investigate Track number one is a track that got frozen somehow by Auria, and all the audio on it has disappeared. Any attempt to unfreeeze the track will result in an instant crash and exit. Luckily for me most of the tracks I lost were pla...

Re: Audio disappeared

Auria definitely froze some tracks - they had the snowflake symbol on the FX button and in the channel strip, but when those regions were unfrozen the audio disappeared. I did have some crashes around then, so maybe that was the cause, but tracks that were previously not frozen (I hadn't frozen any ...

Re: Audio disappeared

I've just had a similar experience: as my project grew over 40 tracks Auria started to automatically freeze some tracks (unbeknown to me), which was quite annoying. Then when I tried to unfreeze those tracks, the audio was gone. I do have auto-cleanup enabled, otherwise the storage really balloons, ...

Re: Auria compatable drum apps

Drumagog will let you replace individual drum sounds, as long as your drums are multi-tracked. For example you can swap your existing snare for another one, maybe with a punchier sound. There's quite a range of different options available so it makes it a lot easier to find drum sounds that fit the ...

Re: Cursor jumping to different part of song when recording

6/8 might be the culprit then. I filed a bug report in the relevant forum section.

The workaround I ended up using was to simply figure out how far back the playhead needed to be to start recording at the right place, not ideal but it worked.

Re: This is Ridiculously cheap

I think the discussion was entirely about master bus limiting, sorry if that wasn't clear. There's no point in adding a limiter to individual tracks or groups, compression is much more logical there.

Re: This is Ridiculously cheap

Sort of... I think this is straying into personal taste territory, as opposed to objective fact at this stage though. If you mix a song so that there is no limiting on the verse but there is limiting on the chorus it's pretty safe to say the chorus will sound louder than the verse, and there is sti...

Re: This is Ridiculously cheap

As ever, I'm going to show my absolute ignorance.... I get that a limiter, erm, limits, but why do I need that on top of things like the compression effects? What job do you use the limiter for? On the most basic level it simply means your signal won't clip. If you put a limiter on the master bus i...
