Re: SPL Crimson

I don't have one but I emailed SPL with two questions. 1) Do the midi ports work with iPad? answer "yes, that works. Tried it with Garageband." 2) Does it charge the iPad when in use? answer "no" The second of those answers is a pity. I also notice that the connectors are all che...

Re: External harddrives wifi ect...

This is nearly impossible, and is a major frustration, particularly for photographers, given the vast number of large files they generate. It is also very tiring to find endless threads where the original post is not properly read, and get told about streaming media FROM disk. Or be told 'just downl...

Re: Made for iPad from Focusrite

When will the cretins at Focusrite realise that a Direct Monitor button is no good? You need a mix control (or two independent gains, one for input->monitor and the other for software return->monitor). It's as if they never actually test it by using it.

Re: iLoud or Standar studio speakers for home studio?

I have the IK iLoud and also some Yamaha HS-7's. I have previously owned Genelec 8040s as well as countless HiFi speakers including Shahinians. In my opinion, the iLoud is impressive for its size, but only if you need a portable speaker system. If you intend to have any kind of permanent home studio...

Re: Which Interface?

http://cymaticaudio.com/ You might dig this... Instead of popping up here and plugging your own interface, (which is clearly not going to suit someone who's after a couple of channels, probably with mic and instrument inputs), why don't you concentrate on doing something useful, like putting some s...

Re: Blue spark digital

Personally I find any kind of latency very distracting. I can tell the difference between a real analogue monitoring signal and a digital mixer (like the 'One'), but I can cope with that. Any monitoring through software is too much delay for me. But my timing isn't very good anyway, so perhaps that'...

Re: Blue spark digital

Apogee iMic has no headphone output so you rely on monitoring through Auria, which will introduce some latency. At least the Blue Spark Digital has analogue monitoring (with no latency).

Re: Blue spark digital

I agree that the Blue Spark Digital sounds good on vocals, but it was no good for recording a guitar cab or bass cab.

If you are in the UK you can try it for cheap - by buying my one. Send me a PM if you're interested.

AudioCopy very slow

I just tried to use AudioCopy on a 4 minute section of audio. It had to convert from 24 bit to 16 bit and took minutes on an iPad 4. This seems very strange - am I expecting too much or is there a problem with this bit of functionality?

Re: How do I 'get at' stems?

Great, both good solutions, thanks.
Both part of being able to use Auria on the move without access to your own computer, but interfacing with other people and studios.

Thanks Rim. So, does that mean deleting it first? And if so, how do I make sure I don't lose all my existing projects?
