Re: Presonus 1818 or Saffire 18i6?

@trupro - All of my settings are default, so 256 for latency. Nothing special there. The input matrix is self explanatory, just 8 inputs. But also, be aware that I turn off 'record monitor' since I'm playing so loudly that I dont need to hear what the mics hear, just the scratch tracks. Granted, th...

Re: Presonus 1818 or Saffire 18i6?

I am using the presonus. I keep 8 XLR mics connected at all times while I track live drums this month in my pseudo home studio. The presonus only has 8 XLR inputs anyways, the rest are quarter inch. I'm recording 8 tracks at a time in 96k on an iPad 4 with no other apps installed, just the default....

Re: Presonus 1818 or Saffire 18i6?

They are all different applications. You much choose based on budget, how much quality in the a/d and d/a converters you require, and how many inputs you need. RME: You may want to rethink the RME, because this will offer you the highest quality audio conversion of these three. However, firstly, som...

So confirm for us Rim: this pretty widely known issue will be solved with the new update coming soon (and will the newest be 1.06 or is 1.05 still in the apple pipeline)?

thanks all

Re: ADDED: Snapshot system

Sweet! This is a good addition. No more scouring your synched files with the computer, tripple checking your filenames before manually deleting everything. Now, Rim just wondering, is there deliniation between save types? For instance we are still able to copy a session with audio files and everythi...

Re: Questions for Auria & NanoStudio Users

I am using same workflow, since NS is my go-to for writing on the iPad .So is this true, the pasteboard exports have a 50mb limit? Or is that rather a limit of NS?

Apologies I couldn't tell whether the real answer was...
50mb paste limit, or rather he's just seeing flat waveform at the silent parts?

Re: Auria 1.04 ready for download!

Awesome folks, keep those anecdotes coming so we know where the pitfalls are! RIM and company: thanx for all your hard work, loving Auria. Question: We had some issues last time where folks had stuff running fine in Auria on iOs 5.x and then after upgrading, some things like Background audio and oth...

Re: Presonus 1818VSL and headphone-mix

Are you running iOS 6.x? My experience with the 1818, was that the headphone jack didn't function under iOS 5.x but as soon as I updated the firmware, it just worked. As I understand it, that's because previously IOS couldn't route the audio out to any channels except 1 & 2, and the 1818 uses 7...

Re: question on pops and clicks

Hello user and RIM...I just wanted to note that, unfortunately, this happens alot to me as well. Even when i record within Auria, when i cut a region, it often inserts an artificial transient spike at beginning and/or end of region. Perhaps this is corrected with the 'auto crossfade' function (which...

Re: Record Latency Adjustment in Prefs?

The latency adjustment is only used for audio interfaces which mis-report their latency. In other words, if you're using an interface which has 122 samples of latency, and it only reports 108 samples to iOS, you would type in 14 into the box. This is completely different from the record latency in ...

Re: Presonus 1818VSL: Field Test and Pros & Cons

There is one Quite bad thing about the Presonus if your a Guitarist If you plug your Electric Guitar straight into the presonus and use say the Overloud plug-in you get a bad buzzing bit like a strat single coil type buzz. That's always there even if you use the noise gate. :( And Acoustic straight...
