Scarlett 2i2: Line Audio Design CM3 vs Rode M3
Side by side comparison of a Line Audio Design CM3 and a Rode M3. Both connected through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Both microphones received roughly the same signal. My voice. And I was about 83cm or 32.7in away from the capsules. Auria made. Recorded two different mono tracks. Edited and then joine...

Re: Rough Side by Side for Vocals. Mics and/or Audio Interfa
@richardyot I'm glad you like the comparisons. I have the Line 6 Mobile In and the Sonic Port. Apparently they have the same A/D converters. I personally like both. The major difference is the monitoring options of the Sonic Port. It makes it much more of a complete audio interface. In any case, I s...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. How to be truly mobile.
My 2i2 was resetting randomly using your recommendations.
But I changed my mobile phone charger to one that outputs 5V, 2.1A. And the random resets stopped.
I hope this helps someone else.

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 issues
I had been powering my 2i2 with a Y cable connected to a passive USB hub and a mobile phone charger. The charger output 5V, 800mA Maximum. And my 2i2 was reseting randomly. I changed the mobile charger to one that outputs 5V, 2.1A. And the 2i2 has worked smoothly after that. It has not reset after t...

Re: focusrite scarlet 2i2 problems
I had been using the 2i2 powered by a mobile phone charger with a Maximum of 5V, 800mA output. And a normal 2.0 pasive USB hub. With a Y cable. I was having problems also with the 2i2 reseting randomly. I changed the mobile phone charger to one that outputs a Maximum of 5V, 2.1A. And the reseting fr...

Re: MicPort Pro from CEntrance. Any thoughts?
According to user @dream and @Lynn Fuston, it does work. But the audio samples are not really that convincing in the reviews. CEntrance MicPort Pro ----> [DOES WORK WITH CAMERA CONNECTION KIT AND POWERED 1.1 HUB] I connected a SM7B to it - and for 48V phantom power mics I tried a Rode NT5 and a Scho...

Re: Question about Focusrite PreAmps.
EDITED @supanorton @dominicperry As Dominic stated, I just bought a couple of CM3, and I am starting to love them. Light, mobile, great sound. The two WAV files attached are a side by side comparison of the two CM3 I have. Each one connected to a different mobile option that I copied from user &quo...

Re: Question about Focusrite PreAmps.
@dominicperry I just read your last replies here and in the self-powered audio interface topic. You really know your stuff. And I agree with you that we are all somehow looking for the same type of interface. Because you have experience with them, would a Sound Devices interface be worth the investm...

Re: Question about Focusrite PreAmps.
@dominicperry I really like the 2i2. I am looking for something similar. And maybe bus-powered. Or battery powered. After following fgplayerx post about mobility, I got a external 5v mobile phone charger. And I can remain wall socket free for at least 5 or 6 hours of recording -even with 2 phantom p...
