I misunderstood.
As a side note, the RME Babyface needs external power because using USB power doesn't help with spikes on the USB bus when Phantom power is turned on and off.
Bring back Firewire.

Re: Memory management v1.04
Understood. Thanks for the explanation. I should just hide the CPU/memory meters and concentrate on the music!

Re: Presonus 1818VSL: Field Test and Pros & Cons
There aren't many things which will work without a hub, purely because the 'standard' USB spec is 500mA and the iPad will only provide 20mA. That's an Apple iOS limitation. So you're left with only a few interfaces that work without one, and all sorts of restrictions - low headphone output, no phant...

Memory management v1.04
I have no idea if this is how earlier versions behaved, or if it's a problem at all. When I fire up Auria on my iPad 4, I have about 480MB of memory free. No other apps running at all. Almost every action I perform seems to reduce the available memory, and the figure only goes down, none is ever ret...

Re: Presonus 1818VSL: Field Test and Pros & Cons
Presonus are useless with software updates. I fell out with their mods on the Studio One forum because I criticised their poor response to countless user complaints about serious performance and reliability problems. Don't hold Rim to account for their failings.

Re: Airplay
Airplay has a 2 second delay built into the spec by Apple, so I've no idea how you could use it for editing or mixing anyway.

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
Look at the first post on the RME Babyface CC thread on their forum: http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16104 You will see the link to the PDF files in English and German which explain how to operate the Babyface in CC mode, without using a computer at all. You need to upgrade to the lat...

Re: GarageBand to Auria on iPad
Not sure if it helps at all, but you can rename .m4a files as .mp4 Some audio programs won't recognise an .m4a file, but will recognise the same file with the file extension changed to .mp4 It should be remembered that the two file types are not identical - one or other can be a video file as well a...

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
The RME Babyface, running in Class Compliant mode, will allow you to select the sample rate with the Babyface as Master, from 44.1 to 192KHz, or set to Autosync, which will lock to an external ADAT or S/PDIF sync signal. It defaults to Autosync, and if there is no external clock, will run at 44.1KHz...

Re: Alternative to AAF export
Ok thanks for the explanation. It would be helpful if there was a way of getting BWF files without iTunes. An inbuilt web-server (like NanoStudio has) for transferring files would be very useful. Having to revert to a computer, and specifically _my_ computer, for each file transfer, is a problem. Th...

Re: Alternative to AAF export
Thanks for the reply Rim. When are the wav files BWF ? I've done an 'Export as AAF' from Auria, and the files in the folder are not BWF, at least, they don't seem to have any position data in them. I've tried Presonus Studio One and Reaper. Both import all files at 00:00:00 even though I've got a di...

Alternative to AAF export
Are there any plans to include another export format from Auria? AAF is, sadly, no good for any of the DAWS I own. I would like to be able to do an export of all WAVs from 00:00:00 so that they line up, one for each track, without having to solo each track individually and then do a mix. That's very...

Re: The Working / Not working audio interfaces thread
Blue Spark Digital works with iPad 4 (iOS 6.0.1). It is supplied with two cables (USB and 30pin). The first works with the 'new' CCK and the latter works with the 30pin to Lightning adapter. The mic appears as a stereo input for some odd reason, (both for Multitrack DAW and Auria). Using the USB cab...
