Sampletank is REALLY good. I've used it on desktops and the iOS app is just as good. Funy the OP asked this because Garageband although free on macs, it's one of the BEST daws I ever used and the instruments and sounds quality are so nice. Everything sounds crisp and clear. hey matt thanks for the explanation, but is there any benefit from psp side chain (thats coming) and the pro c side chaining (thats available now) other than the graphical reference?
also what are the differenced between using side chaining in pro l pro g and pro c?

You should try freezing your tracks. It gives you back some ram, which is awesome.

oh god that sucks, thank goodness it wasnt an important project. a work around would be to SAVE AS "project title backup" every so often...but it shouldnt even come down to that :/

i know it creates a new file but does it do it at the source settings? or predetermined? say 16bit?, 24 bit? wav? what if the source is a mp3? the joined file is a mp3?
