In my experience, Auria has forced a shut down enough times that I feel more comfortable shutting down myself so I don't lose anything. I haven't ever seen the memory recover.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy a new iPad every time Apple releases one.

The new Focusrite iTrack Solo for iPad looks like a great option for the solo artist, who doesn't need multiple inputs. Here's a video link:

It'll be interesting to see how AudioBus, Auria, and another app deal with CPU. I hope it works.

I don't think it's possible without a computer. I've been frustrated by this for a few years now. Apple keeps iTunes locked down. They don't want us getting music from anyone but them.
