Re: Stutter audio. Can't work on anything!!

Yes, I typed some stuff, but can't remember what! Not sure I even mentioned GuitarJack. I think I mentioned the two channels becoming one. I'll have a think, it might come back to me.
Does the crash log give you a song name?

Re: Stutter audio. Can't work on anything!!

I let Auria send a crash report yesterday when this happened. If you need my machine ID to match the crash log up, let me know.
Latest version of Auria (1.04) with latest iOS (6.0.1) on iPad 4 (WiFi only, 64GB).

Re: Stutter audio. Can't work on anything!!

I'm not sure how you're testing this Rim, but there's no doubt I get problems with interfaces disconnecting. As an example, using GuitarJack and going into the GuitarTone app (to set levels) and then coming back to Auria. Auria will sometimes no longer see two input channels, and if two have been pr...

Re: Stutter audio. Can't work on anything!!

Yes, when the screen locks the interface disconnects. So Rim is referring to the times you disconnect the interface, not physically, but because you have let the iPad sleep. Yes, disconnecting the interface and reconnecting will cause more crashes. At least, it always does in every audio app I've us...

Re: Slower iPads?

Well, all iPads are slower than the iPad4  I think that the iPad 1 struggles to do anything much other than record and play back raw audio tracks. It takes quite a lot of effort to apply FX one at a time and freeze tracks. The iPad 2 is probably heading towards slow but not there yet! The more...

Re: GuitarJack and Auria

GuitarJack required the dedicated controls available in FourTrack or StudioTrack to alter gain and choose things like which input you are using, mono, stereo. dual-mono, etc. The other apps which come free from Sonoma - GuitarTone and TaylorEQ can also be used to alter the settings. I use GuitarTone...

Re: ipad4 & Auria

The lightning connector has extended functionality over the 30 pin connector. However, if you use a 30pin to Lightning adapter, not everything will work as it did before. In particular, I believe video signals are not passed over the adapter. In addition, certain audio interfaces (for example the Ta...

Thanks Rim. You found the other thread already, I see. Glad that Auria does support plugin automation.

Re: Here comes the competition: Cubasis

'CD quality audio' = 16 bit ==> Not professional. At least for what I look for as a fundamental requirement of a DAW. From the video clip Cubasis looked clunky, not sure if that was the video frame rate or whether it was the way it was coded. The fact that Rim used machine code means we're guarante...

Re: Here comes the competition: Cubasis

Worth remembering that the convenience of swapping sessions between Cubase and Cubasis will win a lot of users. A major inconvenience of Auria is the lack of formats for interchange with anything other than AAF. Aiming at the ProTools user base might be smart or it might be wide of the mark. I sugge...

Re: Here comes the competition: Cubasis

no automation,no competition  Cubasis eats the dusk after auria got the Midi update.Oh,and the virtual instruments of course :) Anyway,i really like the look. But right now theres nothing that' will keep me away from auria and beatmaker. I agree, Automation is the feature which lifts Auria to ...

Re: Here comes the competition: Cubasis

Cubasis is 16 bit 44.1 only from what I read on their site. I'm not into midi so for me Auria rocks. I can also say from my experience Auria has way superior support too! Perhaps Yamaha/steinberg will bring out a high end interface, or maybe the likes of apogee or even more high end companies. My d...

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

There are a lot of videos on YouTube which can guide you through this. There's nothing special or deficient about Auria which makes it different from any other DAW. Unless you're really lucky and have an innate talent for mixing, then you're going to have to learn by doing. In the same way that read...

Re: The Working / Not working audio interfaces thread

I agree that it's possible to waste a lot of money on high end gear. And I certainly believe that there is a fetish in the so-called 'Pro-Audio' world - (which is really mostly amateurs with a lot of money) - about A/D and D/A conversion. Very cheap A/D & D/A convertors can be pretty good. Even ...
