Re: Dark acoustic

I thought that was great. Some range of opinion here, but all about style. I think you nailed what you wanted to nail - a sort of dark, brooding, cinematic feel. You could do something very different with the song, but then it would be a different sort of a song. By all means tweak, but my personal ...

Re: How many ipads

The iPad 4 is what I have, and the fifth full size ipad was released a while ago - it's called the iPad Air. The iPad mini is (and this is not a fully accurate description) essentially an iPad 2, but physically much smaller. I would advise against the iPad mini for Auria. A larger screen helps consi...

Re: Hello from California

It is great, glad you've discovered that :D

I've recorded a 50 minute session and Auria didn't break sweat. An hour should be no problem.

Welcome to the club - I warn you, Auria is addictive

Re: Auria + Positive Grid's new Final Touch mastering App??

I bought Audio Mastering, just to buck the trend. I have found the interface pretty confusing, but was pleased with the extra boost and sparkle it provided. To be frank, I only spent about 10 minutes each on two tracks and better results could probably be achieved with more effort  https://soun...

Re: Active Auria Artists Demos/Masters

Hi Folks, Well, it may have taken me longer than most (I ain't no techie) but I've finally got a couple of tracks I'm reasonably happy with. The first is Pop Kid which you may recognise as a (hopefully) more polished version of the song at the end of my Auria competition video. I found this really h...

Made me smile - music and political satire work well together. 8)

I've just listened on the iPad speakers, but it sounds like a good production to me. More proof of the improvement in what can be achieved by relatively cheap and easy to use gear. Well done.

Re: Plugin Recommendations

Cheers. I guess I'll give it a go :D By coincidence, echo / delay was mentioned in a fun video I saw on YouTube of Andy Johns talking about sound engineering. It's a promo for drum samples, so leans in that direction, but he covers lots of engineering tips. Reminds me of the roadie from Spinal Tap :...

Re: Plugin Recommendations

OK, so here goes the question that proves my ignorance...

What is an echo for? I understand what it does, and I use delay a lot with my guitar playing, but when / why / how would you use one instead of a reverb?

Plugin Recommendations

Hi folks, I have an iTunes voucher burning a whole in my pocket and wondered what people would recommend as my next plugin(s)? I have Pro-Q, Old Timer and Micro Warmer already, all of which have become pretty indispensable to me, so I figure I'll get use out of another  I record rock / pop / i...

Re: Music app blog feature

Had a couple of listens - top banana! Really do enjoy that track - my kind of music. As someone getting into recording, I have an idea of the amount of work involved in getting a song like that finished, so well done for reaching the end. Good advice I heard on a (slightly odd, but quite interesting...

That's about what I do, so it's probably a rubbish workflow

Give it a go, and change it if it doesn't work for you.

Re: ETA on MIDI integration?

Yup - I have no problems connecting the kit and I currently use SampleTank, but it's not without it's hassles and it would be nice being able to do it within Auria.

Being able to do it multi track would be the dream as it opens up the possibility of using Drumagog.
