Re: SSO - almost working!!!

OK, putting frustration aside, I messaged Paul Battersby creator of Virtual Playing Orchesra, and he explained the samples should not be panned to one side. On is PC, it works fine, I found a bug in Lyra, that I will put in the bug report section. I have hope now that with some bug fixes, Lyra and A...

Re: SSO - almost working!!!

Spoke too soon on Virtual Playing Orchestra. Some instruments have notes that are in stereo and other notes that only sound on the right or the left. Hmmm...that won't work. Miroslav for SampleTank is only 8 part multitymbral...makes it hard to create from an orchestral template of 20 instrument tra...

Re: SSO - almost working!!!

Can not get the Staccato Celli to play! I've tried renaming the folder, renaming the .wav file...nothing works. I renamed one of the samples to trigger under the C2 key to one of the Cello Sustain wave files in a different folder and it plays...very frustrating. Why won't the Cello Staccato wave fil...

SSO - almost working!!! [solved]

Rim, Do you mind taking a look at the SSO problem I'm having? I can get all the instruments to work in LYRA except 2. Celli Stacatto and Percussion All. I've attached the SFZ files (in a zip file attached) I modified and some screen shots of the folder structure. I used all the same folder structure...

Re: Core Midi with SampleTank [SOLVED]

Thanks for the quick reply! OK, got it. I watched your video as well, where you copy the midi to another track and then bounce in place, so I understand the workflow a little better now. I agree Auria is the best DAW on iPad. I was thinking about giving up on it because I wanted to try Orchestral ar...

Re: Core Midi with SampleTank

Thank you! I will try that later this evening. It sounds like quite a lot of setting up and routing, but I understand why the signal has to be routed this way. Maybe I will try to find a good oboe sound from SSO or another free orchestral library and load it into LYRA. The Cello sound I'm using from...

Core Midi with SampleTank [SOLVED]

Yesterday was trying to use multiple instrument from SampleTank since it is Multitymbral. I set them up with Core Midi, using the MIDI data on the channel in Auria to play the instrument on separate MIDI channels in SampleTank. I just bought the Miroslav 1 sound library from SampleTank, so I wanted ...

Re: More instruments for Lyra

Trying SSO, I had to tweak the code to get the brass sounds working. They were very soft until MIDI velocity city 120, then they played super loud! @richardyot, have you had issues with SSO? Thanks @jwmmakerofmusic for all the links, but I was hoping for soundfonts that had been tested and working w...

Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

Well, I think I will give up on SSO. It interesting but I could just pay for Miroslav 2 or iSymphonic. Not sure I want to spend so much time noodling around with sounds fonts. The more google searching I do and reading forums about gathering sound fonts, the more laborious it sounds. I hope the wave...

Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

interesting...have you tried the other two listed (VSCO and virtual playing orchestra)? I'm thinking I will try them soon.

Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

David, I'll check out the sound fonts...thanks for the link! Here is a zip containing all of the SSO SFZ files as I have them in Auria. Basically I changed the sample folder by replacing "sample=Samples\" with "sample=" to keep the samples one subfolder next to the SFZ file (Auria coding rule, I thi...

Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

David, No problem. I will put together more detail tonight or tomorrow night. Just my background...I'm a keys/piano player having experience on KORG TR and Yamaha MM8 playing in some church bands and other small gigs (in my earlier years), but sold them and took the dive into DAW and soft instrument...

Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

So, I removed the velocity tracked LPF and the brass instruments do not have the sudden jump in volume at 120 MIDI velocity. I found this same filter on the contra bassoon, glockenspiel, and xylonphone. All samples are playing well, I think. I found a post by the creator of Sonatina replying to a qu...

Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

Here's what the group area at the beginning of the SFZ code is (see below). Any ideas why the brass sounds would be super soft until you hit high velocity (around 120)? String sounds play perfectly fine. Thanks! Jon // ------------------------------ // Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra // ---------------...

Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra [pushed to Bug Report area]

Hello all, Wanting to know from those who have tried SSO in LYRA. I have transferred the samples and SFZ file with no issue. Had to re-write the SFZ files so that the sample= folder reference was correct. LYRA wants the samples in a folder that the SFZ file is in. Question is: does anyone else have ...
