Re: Audio Units in Auria Pro

Not having had any screaming need for AU yet, I don't see anything different or have anything to test. Do they just go in the usual spot for effects in the channel strip?

Re: Song start from scratch.

If you copy one midi track into a second track, you can then change which set of samples you are pointing at in Auria. If you are running against a synth outside of Auria, you would have to send the output back into Auria as an audio signal. If you bounce a midi track, it becomes an audio track, a ....

Re: Do people stay with the effects delivered with Auria Pro

Auria is a fantastic product, the built in stuff is really excellent. The Fabfilter plugins take it to another level. Q2, C2 and L are a must for me. I also have Saturn and Timeless. The PSP stuff is also excellent - MicroWarmer is great for adding a bit of warmth to tracks, and for straight reverb ...

Re: Importing saved .prj from Dropbox

That's not correct. That's what you do if you are loading an audio file that you want added to a track, and that needs to be a file you can see on it's own. As Rim said, use load project, then select Dropbox as the source - you can see the choice of Local or Dropbox at the top. Then you'll see your ...

Re: Snapping Regions Together Seamlessly

The one thing I would also add to the discussion is that, once I get all my regions lined up the way I want, I tend to bounce in place, generally without effects, as I don't necessarily want them hard baked into the audio. You can think of bouncing as "join everything in the track". I do this becaus...

Re: Snapping Regions Together Seamlessly

To use join, you need to use the multiselect tool to select the two regions, then join will work on them. If the time is not quite right, you can slide the second region back and forth until the time is right.

Re: Recording electronic drums

You could do that, but I don't know how you would break it down into seperate tracks, because at that point, it's no longer midi. It's audio. When midi is sent, it's not the actual sound. It's just what note it is, duration, attack, fade, velocity of strike, etc. You then on the target platform pick...

Re: MIDI with Pro

NP. I have done enough of that in this app. It's a complex beast. I still think it's the easiest to use DAW I have tried yet, but it takes some time.

Re: MIDI with Pro

Check on the top left of that channel strip box that you have open. Should be two tabs, "midi control" and "channel strip". Tap midi control.

You did read the manual?

Re: Recording electronic drums

When you record the stereo audio from your Alesis, there is very little you can do with it mixing wise so make sure the individual drum levels are good before recording. Having drums tracked in MIDI gives you incredible flexibility for using different sounds, mixing and editing. This is where Midif...

Re: WAV or M4a recorded?

It would actually be odd for anyone making recording software to record directly to a compressed format like M4a. The only time it would make sense would be on a severely restricted system with insufficient disk. You are not only losing fidelity, but running the recording through yet another CPU con...

Re: Am I missing something?

There are lots of folks getting way more tracks than that. Bouncing to audio, and freezing tracks, is a way of life in the iPad. You'll also find that depending on what settings you're using in the plugins, it can make a huge difference. But no question, it's a more restrictive environment. On the o...

Hiding them would work for me, too. I'm assuming that would be easier than deleting. Not that is major, just convenient.
