Re: Automate effects independently of dry track

Send your track to two busses simultaneously, say bus 1 and bus 2. Keep bus 1 dry, and then add the automated delay and panning effects to bus two, use the faders to blend to taste.

Re: HELP. TIME SHIFT WITH MIXDOWN

I've had this problem since the release of Auria Pro. I bugged it a while back, but any mixdown or bounce in place that uses insert effects is likely to be out of time. Would really love to see this one fixed. :)

Re: Fab Filter Pro R is excellent!

Having that fine level of control over the frequencies of the reflections is really useful, and makes the reverb really versatile as a sound design and mixing tool. My tip is to use the blue curve to emphasise the pleasing timbres in a vocal or instrument. For example if you have a guitar that has g...

Re: Auria v2.09

How does Pro-R compare with the Convolution Reverb? It's much better IMO. The convolution reverb lacks any kind of EQ so if you want to use it as a send you need to daisy-chain an EQ before it, otherwise the results aren't great. Pro R is much more tweakable sonically and sounds great. I've done a ...

Re: File Size

It's a lossy file and AS has to re-encode after the trim. Better to export as a lossless and convert to lossy format after the trim.

Re: Cost of apps

US prices don't include sales tax, whereas UK prices have to include VAT, so that's where the 20% bump is coming from.

Re: Check out Lynda...

Th Lynda.com videos are worth the price of admission! Please don't dismiss them. Hey, I'm looking at Lynda.com for mixing and mastering skills. I've got a few Fabfilter / Poitive Grid (final touch) apps. I think on the functions of these app's I'm not really a beginner but I need some expert guidan...

Re: Auria constantly crashing

Yesterday the same problems again with Sampletank, but I found out where the problem is. Sampletank works fine except when I want to use sounds from American Acoustic, then Auria Pro freezes, or shuts down by itself and never starts the project up again. I am gonna complain at iKmultimedi about thi...

Re: Adding Reverb

Inserts are always in series, only AUX can be in parallel AFAIK.

And yes you can do this with the Channel Strip EQ. There are high and low pass filters at the top of the window which can do the job.

Re: Adding Reverb

That's a really good tip, thanks! I just tried it, and the trick about adding an eq before the reverb is amazing. There is only one problem, though: routing only one snare and one tom track over the aux to the new stereotrack (containing the eq and the reverb) i am already at 53 percent CPU, which ...

Re: Adding Reverb

Generally I find it's essential to add an EQ before the reverb, to trim the highs and also optionally the lows out of the incoming signal, so that the reverb affects the midrange only. The way to do this is to create a new stereo track, set its input to AUX1, add an instance of Pro Q2 and the first ...

Sadly the IR files can't be restored from an iCloud backup. You have to delete and reinstall Auria. Be sure to backup your work first!

Re: Saving plugins/configs as preset in channel strip

You can't save a preset for a chain of plugins in this way. You can save the state of the channel strip as a preset, but it will ignore any insert effects you have added. You would need to save presets in each insert effect individually.

Re: Only one instance of Bias FX?

Personally I much prefer the tones in the Overloud THM IAP than the Jamup one, so would recommend that instead. It allows for multiple instances in Auria.

Re: Plugin/EQ advice and recording levels...

Recording quietly is the best approach with digital, so by aiming for -20db you did the right thing because this ensures you introduce minimum noise from your pre-amps and mics. Once you have acquired the audio you can then increase the gain digitally, by using the Gain function in the Process menu....
