Re: Audio quantize

Here's a basic walk-through of audio warping that I posted on the Audiobus forum:

Re: Compressor with minimum attack

Have you tried enabling Lookahead in Pro C 2?

If you look along the bottom of the Pro C 2 window there is some small text that says "lookahead off", tap there to turn it on and increase the lookahead value to maximum and see if that helps.

Re: Recording level

When recording you look at the track meter (not the master fader), and aim for -18dbs there. This is good baseline level as it will not push your preamp too hard and it's very unlikely to clip. Once the recording is done you can add gain to the file manually: select the audio region in the timeline ...

Re: Recording level

In digital recording you need to aim for a lower input recording level than you would do with analog. Generally you want to have your meters peaking at around -18dbs (very quiet) when tracking (recording the instrument) so that you avoid any chance of clipping, because digital clipping is not nice. ...

Re: ADT app?

For some reason I find Timeless 2 hard to use. Ts probably me but even the manual seems convoluted. I haven't used Timeless as much as I thought I would. I'm wondering if I should purchase PSP Echo. It seems easier to use ... Yes PSP Echo has a much simpler interface so I personally find it much ea...

Re: ADT app?

PSP Echo is a tape delay sim, so it can achieve a pretty decent ADT effect as long as you adjust the Wow controls so that the delayed signal is modulated. A real ADT machine is essentially just a modulated tape delay. Timeless should also be able to do this, but it's easier to set up with PSP Echo I...

Re: Anyone use/like the Lurssen Mastering Console?

I did a comparison between Lurrsen and Pro L on a track of mine a while back, see here:

https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/comm ... ent_239445

If I had to choose, I would stick with the FabFilters, but I don't regret buying Lurrsen, it's another option.

Re: Automate effects independently of dry track

Send your track to two busses simultaneously, say bus 1 and bus 2. Keep bus 1 dry, and then add the automated delay and panning effects to bus two, use the faders to blend to taste.

Re: HELP. TIME SHIFT WITH MIXDOWN

I've had this problem since the release of Auria Pro. I bugged it a while back, but any mixdown or bounce in place that uses insert effects is likely to be out of time. Would really love to see this one fixed. :)

Re: Fab Filter Pro R is excellent!

Having that fine level of control over the frequencies of the reflections is really useful, and makes the reverb really versatile as a sound design and mixing tool. My tip is to use the blue curve to emphasise the pleasing timbres in a vocal or instrument. For example if you have a guitar that has g...

Re: Auria v2.09

How does Pro-R compare with the Convolution Reverb? It's much better IMO. The convolution reverb lacks any kind of EQ so if you want to use it as a send you need to daisy-chain an EQ before it, otherwise the results aren't great. Pro R is much more tweakable sonically and sounds great. I've done a ...

Re: File Size

It's a lossy file and AS has to re-encode after the trim. Better to export as a lossless and convert to lossy format after the trim.

Re: Cost of apps

US prices don't include sales tax, whereas UK prices have to include VAT, so that's where the 20% bump is coming from.
