Re: Major Auria Announcement

One question: this looks like it's going to be a completely new/separate app - is that so? Because I have a significant amount of plugins for Auria, and I really don't want to have to buy them again.

Re: So long, Alchemy. We barely knew ya.

From what I've heard even the sound designers are in the dark - only employees of Camel Audio really know what's going on, and they're keeping quiet, presumably under NDA.

Re: So long, Alchemy. We barely knew ya.

I'm certain it's a buyout, otherwise they would have explained what was going on. They are very open as a company and their customer service was great, the only explanation for the silence is that they are under NDA.

In praise of the Channel Strip

I've been turning to the Channel Strip lately for most of my EQ/compression/limiting needs to try and save on resources and avoid having to freeze tracks on my iPad 4, and I'm really impressed with how well the effects work as well as how efficiently they use resources. In the past I used to default...

Re: JamUp - Standalone vs. In-app version?

I think if you want a plugin then Overloud THM is head and shoulders above Jamup. It's also pretty cheap to check out the individual apps, just get the basic/free versions of Jamup and Tonestack and compare them. Flying Haggis is also not expensive, and doesn't have any IAPs, so when you buy it you ...

Re: JamUp - Standalone vs. In-app version?

It's a matter of taste and what style you play - I don't do high gain stuff and and I don't really like Jamup or Ampkit. I prefer Flying Haggis and Tonestack, and I am also totally convinced that the FX emulations in Tonestack are far more convincing than the ones Jamup, they sound way better to my ...

Re: Amp/Pedal Modelling

Overloud is pretty nice, and hopefully as it operates inside Auria should be OK memory-wise. Bias is also a favourite of mine, but that one is definitely a resource hog. Also Flying Haggis is really good, and not too resource intensive. Beautiful tone IMO. Finally Tonestack is also well worth checki...

Will it support virtual Midi? So that we can sequence external synths, Animoog, Sunrizer etc... I presume it will, because otherwise it won't much use

Re: a greeting & a few questions

For transferring files to and from the PC you need to download a free program called iFunbox, this will let you access the file system of the iPad via USB and you can simply drag and drop files in and out of Auria with it.

Re: Drumagog cymbals

I'm sure it's just a glitch, and that someone will send you the extra packs soon. WML are usually pretty good at looking after customers. You can hear some of the extra cymbals on this track, the drums were originally created with Drumperfect but I used Drumagog to replace the kick, snare, ride, and...

The Fiery Breeze

This was done with a Les Paul, a condenser mic and an iPad, recorded and mixed in Auria: https://soundcloud.com/richardyot/the-fiery-breeze It's the first song I've recorded in 20 years, and compared to what home recording was like last time I tried it with a cheap 4 track recorder I'm pretty thrill...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. How to be truly mobile.

I can confirm that using this solution has solved my ground loop problems that I was having with my Scarlett 2i4. When using a mains powered hub there was a very loud hum when either my guitar or my microphone was plugged in, that got louder when my hands were close to the humbuckers or when I touch...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. How to be truly mobile.

I'm having ground loop problems with my powered hub into my Scarlett 2i4, I might try this solution to see if it fixes it, since the wall outlet will no longer be necessary.
