VERY basic mixdown question

A VERY newbie question. I have finished recording a couple of projects and would like to export them, but may wish to come back to remix after hearing them in the "real world". I assume but want to confirm that doing a mixdown and exporting a .WAV is really taking a snapshot of the project from a mo...

Re: Auria 1.14 is live

Thanks, RIm. I thought my experience was not normal. I'll get back to it tonight after work. I did make sure that all background apps were not running and was working in "Airplane mode" as well to limit other draws on the iPad memory. I will try the re-boot on my iPad tonight and see what that does....

Re: Auria 1.14 is live

Yep, this update fixed some critical iOS7 crashing issues, so I was able to get an expedited review out. ChrisG, I'll have to look at how Sugar Bytes implemented automation. There are ways around what you're seeing. I'll investigate. Thanks, Rim Question for you on this Rim... New user, so thanks f...

Removing "dead air" in tracks?

Please forgive this newbie question... Wondering if I might save memory by deleting long stretches of silence in some tracks. For example, if I have a strings section coming in at the last chorus/end of song, I really don't need the track until that point. I have been splitting tracks and deleting t...

Stereo channels from my synth?

I've launched my first project (having a blast!) and have run the battery down on my iPad, so thought I'd ask a couple questions while it recharges. I wish to record songs using my Yamaha Motif XF8 workstation direct to Auria vs. using the sequencer in the synth. I'm running through a Focusrite Scar...

How about a "maximizing memory" sticky?

I've done a few searches and found a few tidbits here & there but not a clear "this is how you optimize memory" thread. Would be nice to have all memory-saving tips in one place. OK....go! (please re-direct me or add a link to any old threads on this). Thanks! Here are a couple to start: 1. Stop all...

Re: Newbie question: gain clipping at low volume

Thanks all - had missed the record level knob. Have read the manual and will fiddle with it this weekend. As I said in OP, I've probably just missed something embarrassingly obvious (like the record level knob -doh!).

Newbie question: gain clipping at low volume

Background: I've just gotten a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6. Set it up briefly and created a new project on my iPad 3, 64G. I went line out straight off my workstation (Yamaha Motif XF) into the Scarlett. I tried the line inputs on back and also the mic inputs on front of the Focusrite. Had signal immedi...

Re: Important information about Auria and iOS7

Hmmmm. I have iPad 3, 64G. Just got Auria and still finding my way.
Think I'll wait for now so I understand what "normal" feels like before making changes.
New iOs can keep (digging it on my iPhone, though).

Re: Does Focusrite 6i6 require USB bus power?

Thanks y'all - bought the 6i6 today. As a newbie, not sure I'm qualified to post first impressions, but I'll try soon once I have some. Have a project to dive into upon arrival. Cheers!

Re: Does Focusrite 6i6 require USB bus power?

The Scarlett 6i6 does not Bus Power. It requires use of the included adapter. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. AWESOME - thanks so much Katherine for the quick reply! I was hoping to avoid the extra fuss of adding a USB bus - good news!! I think I've found my interface!
