Re: Loop while punching in (audio)

Loop recording is a convenience and keeps the flow going without interruption, but the function to me isn’t make or break. Maybe if I was using it in a pro-production environment where it was the expectation of other performers, but that’s not the case. I think every DAW I’ve used can do it, but not...

Re: Transpose not affecting MIDI input during record? [BUG]

At the rate SampleTank is going, it'll only be another fifty years before we can call it a DAW. It's not an alternative app.

Dotted notes

I noticed this months ago, but don't remember if it's been reported or not. The dotted duration selector in the Note Bar multiplies the duration by .5 rather than 1.5.

Re: Markers

Great idea. Also, select a region in the pseudo-marker-timeline, go to Edit > Loop to Selection, and your intro, verse, chorus, or whatever is ready to loop.

Re: Getting Started with Auria Pro

You have a very different approach than I do. I learn as much as I can before I even buy hardware or software, and I knew pretty well how DAWs worked before I ever owned one. If you have the patience, there are many free and commercial videos out there where you can watch people create music using D...

Re: Midi Quantize Deletes Notes

In Logic Pro, overlapping notes are each maintained as separate messages. Other notes are not effected when a note is moved to occupy the same space in time, whether it was the result of quantizing or manually. In Gadget on iOS, overlapping notes are possible, and each note sounds independently with...

Re: Last update

Advantage of an iPad Pro can be higher res or larger size. I don’t have an iPad Pro yet, but one reason I’m inclined to get one is that some GUI elements are too small on a regular iPad. Auria is mostly fine, but an example---some of the FabFilter GUI’s are too small for me. My eyesight isn’t great,...

Re: New to Auria

As I remember, it was a good free video that covered some basics, i.e. working with an imported piece. A common application. Auria’s a big program. If you just want to record and playback some audio, I’m not sure what the problem is. But these relatively new and inexpensive iPad apps are not industr...

Re: Add text markers?

I'm still learning Auria, but I know that as your song/piece gets longer, it becomes more difficult to locate sections quickly. In addition to text markers, it would be nice to have a Song page, menu, or pop-up where the named sections are listed. Tap hold on a section-name and choose to rename, del...

Re: New to Auria. No loop MIDI record?

Yes, it's a fairly standard way of recording, but I don't think you can do it in Auria. However, you can overdub parts on the same track, which accomplishes the same thing. It's been discussed before...

Re: How to change the notes on a specific key into the other

If you tap on the note in the piano keys strip down the left side of the editor window, you select all notes of that pitch in the track. Then long hold on any selected note until the borders turn red and move them to the new note you want.

Re: New to Auria

From p. 39 of the manual Subgroups Auria’s mixer contains eight separate subgroups which can be used for advanced routing and bus processing. It works be re-routing the channel’s output to a specific subgroup, instead of directly to the master channel, allowing selected channels to be summed and pro...

Re: MIDI Quantizing

Hi Rim, I tried from the Process menu and got the same result. Here’s what I did. 1. Start New Project, Add a MIDI track. In Editor window, set snap to 1/2 Beat. Choose 16th-note from Note Duration Selector. Enter 8 notes in bar 1 on 1.1.1.000, 1.1.3.000, 1.2.1.000, 1.2.3.000, 1.3.1.000 etc… 2. Sele...

Re: MIDI Quantizing

Yes, I have 2.02. If I record or manually input a series of 8th or 16th notes, the off-beat notes (the second, fourth, sixth, etc...) are brought closer to the note ahead of them, to the point of almost sounding like a flam at full swing. I'm learning by going through the manual and hadn't come to t...

MIDI Quantizing

I have some questions about MIDI Quantizing. Unless I’m doing something wrong, SWING pushes the off-beats forward in time instead of back. What is the WINDOW knob? I can’t figure out what Groove Quantizing is doing at all, so not sure what to ask about that. What I’m used to is that quantize will mo...
