Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
No, I do not have Audiobus. My understanding is that it doesn't work too well with Auria when using an iPad 2, which is what I have. So is there no way to avoid also recording audio from the internal mic when doing an internal drum recording? Or does using the more CPU intensive IAA method eliminate...

Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
I'm not sure I follow. How can I record just the drums -- internally -- without also recording using the iPad's internal mic on to the same stereo track? Are you saying that isn't possible? Or do I need to hook up an external audio interface, and just not plug any mics or line level devices into it ...

Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
I have absolutely nothing hooked up to the iPad at all whatsoever (not even headphones). All I am doing is as follows: 1) I launch Auria and configure the MIDI settings as you've suggested 2) I launch DP (separately -- not as an FX plugin) and enable MIDI clock 3) I go back to Auria, arm my track fo...

Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
Thanks so much! I did exactly as you described, and it seemed to work. However .. since I didn't load DP as a plugin (as you suggested), it sounds like what I'm actually recording is through the iPad's internal microphone. Because what I end up with is a stereo track that has very faint drums record...

Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
Thanks jg707! When you say "Turn off MTC and MMC", do you mean within Auria .. or within DP ? Also -- do you know if it's important that the tempos that are configured in both Auria and DP need to be set to the same BPM? Or does the Auria override DP's tempo setting? Lastly -- do I still n...

Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
Hey everyone -- I just figured out when I enable "Midi Clock" in DrumPerfect, .. that I can trigger the playing back of my drum sequence when initiating recording from within Auria. I've noticed that there's a slight delay (as other users have reported) but that's good enough for me .. for...

Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
Actually -- I think I've figured out what's going on. It appears that I am able to activate Auria's record function from within DrumPerfect. The problem is that when you press on the tiny white play button that's to the left of the small blinking red record button -- absolutely nothing happens to in...

Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
It's always just shown up for me -- I didn't have to do anything special at all.

Re: Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
Yeah .. I tried that exactly as you described, and it appears that I'm not able to initiate the recording from within DrumPerfect at all.

Syncing DrumPerfect with Auria?
I noticed the other day that the new DrumPerfect app is available for me to choose as an "FX" within Auria. When I arm a stereo track to record within Auria, and then choose the DrumPerfect app/FX -- it then launches the DrumPerfect app, and there's a small Auria-specific toolbar at the bo...

Re: Blue Snowball vs. Blue Yeti vs. Apogee Mic ?
Well, .. I returned the smelly snowball mic, got my money refunded, and re-invested it in the Focusrite iTrack Solo audio interface, .. which I'll be using with my cheap M-Audio Nova condenser mic over the next couple of weeks.
Fingers crossed!

Re: What's better than DM1 ?
I bought the app the day it came out .. and was able to create a very convincing sounding drum track with it (using the Jazz kit that it defaults to .. which sounds better than any of the other kits, I believe). But as it stands right now, there are several things about the app that make it unusable...

Re: Blue Snowball vs. Blue Yeti vs. Apogee Mic ?
Yeah .. I agree with you about the Snowball. It's junk, and I hate junk. (It also smells. Did I mention that already?) Regardless, I just put in a return request through Amazon. What I'm actually thinking of doing instead is getting one of the entry-level Focusrite audio interfaces, and trying it wi...

Blue Snowball vs. Blue Yeti vs. Apogee Mic ?
So .. I have a Blue Yeti mic, and just recently bought and tested a Blue snowball mic using Auria. I bought the Blue snowball because ... A) I don't need to power it with a USB hub B) it was only $49 on Amazon Although I like the fact that the Snowball doesn't require power, there are a couple of th...

Re: Recording 16 tracks simultaneously using IPad 2 16gb?
Again .. thank you all for your excellent advice! Based on all of this information, I'm concluding that I would be able to record 16 tracks simultaneously using my IPad 2 16gb unit ... but that it would require more than just a single audio interface. I'm still not clear as to exactly what hardware ...
