Re: Phase issue

Hi Anthony, thanks for the detailed response, I appreciate it. The only problem I have is time and I have in fact done loads of editing on all 3 guitar tracks. I have an attended session booked next Saturday with the engineer to do tweaks, compiling the album etc and his schedule is booked up for ag...

Re: Phase issue

The Final Touch app has a stereo imaging module with panning, flipping, phase control and some other stuff. There are likely a few other apps that do this kind of stuff. Edit: Stereo Designer is another app you might want to check out. It pans, delays and such to mess with the stereo field. Sounds ...

Re: Phase issue

I tried both methods martygras & pitzipado. Flipping the Polarity of one guitar didn't work. Also doing the split stereo mixdown gave me no audio when I tried both faders panned centred & also hard panned left & right. I solo'd the 3 guitar tracks centred and tried the mixdown for this.....

They are 3 unique takes. I tried the suggestion of mixing one of them down panned centred to a new mono track.
This didn't work either; I was getting no audio at all in the bounced mono track.

Re: Phase issue

What do you hear when you solo the tracks? If they are stereo tracks I would try soloing each track pan center and mix to new mono track then see what those sounded like with the proper pans. I am pretty new to digital recording and my ears failed the sound engineer physicals but I love to experime...

Re: Phase issue

Thanks for the speedy reply. Hindsight is a great thing...wish I hadn't missed it. I just checked the guitar tracks and they were recorded via the Orange guitar amp app. All 3 are Audiopaste files. I tried moving them a few milliseconds & turning off Aux reverb that they are all using and still ...

Phase issue

Hi all, My mastering engineer has come back to me saying that a mix I sent him has phase issues, he says on guitar tracks. I've not had this problem before and don't know how to fix it. There are 3 guitar tracks panned left, right & centred all playing similar parts but with different amp effect...

Re: Crackle noise - Buffer/RAM issue?

This is an issue that affects all iPad 2, 3 and Original Mini models. Unfortunately it's not something that can be fixed, as it's a hardware issue in the iPad itself. Apple fixed this starting with the iPad 4 and later models. The issue happens when an app makes large memory transfers while using a...

Re: Crackle noise - Buffer/RAM issue?

Have you tried rendering just that track with its effects, by itself to see what the result sounds like? Sometimes a bus can start pushing towards zero dB, but usually what you describe starts earlier in the recording chain. That's not the problem, I render my mixes all the time and they don't have...

Re: Crackle noise - Buffer/RAM issue?

Hi Rim, It's an iPad 2 using a Focusrite iTrack Solo. I'm using Auria 1.155. I'm not upgrading my iPad to iOS 8 & latest Auria until my albums finished which is only a matter of weeks away. This is due to major compatibility issues with audio interfaces in the past which cost me time & money...

Crackle noise - Buffer/RAM issue?

I am experiencing a crackling noise on songs when recording vocals (via a condensor mic using phantom power). The noise seems to come in after around 2 mins most of the time and progressively gets worse. Restarting Auria always works but the noise comes back 2 mins later. It is also worth noting tha...

Change of sample rate to project? Zero tracks

Hi, i was using ielectric piano and running Auria in the background, switched back to Auria & the sample rate of the project changed from 48 to 44.1. I tried to load the project but it says there are 0 tracks and when loaded it displays no name and no tracks. There are some snapshots listing 30 ...

Re: Pro-DS...Before or after reverb

To give a final answer to the OP: - your setup is perfectly fine. Put a de-esser as an insert into every vocal track that needs one, preferably BEFORE any EQ - the reverb, if added via an aux send, has no influence on the de-essing whatsoever, and auxes are always the preferred way to get effects t...

Re: Pro-DS...Before or after reverb

The Aux sends are post channel strips and inserts - they have to be or freezing tracks wouldn't work correctly. If you freeze a track that bakes the channel strip and insert effects, but you can still vary the Aux send level, ergo the Aux is applied after them. I think the order is: Channel Strip (...
